Varvara played well today, her mind was in a good place and she was able to execute what her plan as well as she could in the situation. Her opponent Garbine Muguruza is ranked number 20 in the world and hits a big ball. Her power game is magnified on the fast courts of Wimbledon. At 4-4 and 40-30 Varvara had a couple of chances to go up 5-4 in the first. After going back and forth deuce add deuce add Garbine finally got the game and rolled on from there.

What amazes me every time I get the opportunity to work with some of the best in any field is there is such a marginal difference from doing really well and greatness for lack of a better way to say it. The difference from doing really well and achieving what you want, is marginal. This marginal difference comes in the micro decisions we make on the practice court, in the weight room, in the eating areas, and how we navigate critical moments in competition. Good micro decisions in all areas of our life lead to good mental patterns that add up over time.

Again what has been reconfirmed to me is that success in created, achieving it is in the micro assuming the macro is taken care of and yet again the mind is the driver of it all. CONTROL YOU MIND CONTROL YOU LIFE.
